Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income school district. I have a class of very diverse students; most of my students have English as their second language. All of my students receive complimentary breakfast and lunch. Even though many of my students have obstacles in and out of the classroom, they come to school eager to learn. We have overcome flooding from Hurricane Harvey, Imelda, and Delta. Many of my students are still having their homes fixed. I want to provide the best learning environment, despite the hardships of covid -19, so they can be successful.

My Project

This is my first year teaching Kindergarten at my school. My students are engaging, excited young learners. This is the first year with face-to-face learning for many of my students due to COVID- 19.

Help this first-year Kindergarten teacher give my students the classroom of their dreams.

The new rug will replace the worn-down soft carpet I currently have; this book rug will inspire my students to love reading.

The storage bins will be used to store manipulatives and teach my students to be responsible for keeping their things organized and clean.
