This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many students are driven hard-working, bright, humorous, and kind. They attend a Title I public school meaning that most of my students come from poverty-stricken homes. My students are currently enrolled in online learning due to the pandemic. I create engaging, interactive, and accessible online lessons and videos to provide a quality education despite the online context.

My Project

I am a first-year teacher that has been assigned to a classroom in a poverty-stricken community. I currently have close to zero school supplies to begin the next school year. Throughout the year, I hope to incorporate lots of group work activities to orient students to learn from each other. Even though I teach mathematics, I like to incorporate visuals, charts, and hands-on activities. With these supplies, I will be able to stock the student resource center with plenty of pens, pencils, markers, and other craft supplies. Using the posters, whiteboard markers, whiteboards, and erasable pockets, I will be able to use group games and activities to review math in a fun way!
