First Things First-Learning About and Teaching Emotional Regulation
I need training in The Zones of Regulation, a curriculum that will help me support my students' emotional and attentional self-regulation.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Mary Fox's classroom raised $418
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a large, public, inner-city school in the Bronx. My students are wonderful third and fourth graders who struggle with learning due to learning, language, attentional or emotional needs. Learning a typical curriculum, differentiated to minimize the effects of their disabilities, the students are becoming problem solvers, reflective communicators, and active citizens of the school, community, and world.
Many of my students struggle to regulate their attention and emotions.
When we return to 100% in-person learning in the Fall, we will need to focus on building our students' emotional and attentional regulation.
My Project
More than any other year, our students need support to understand and process their experiences and emotions. This training will provide me with a curriculum and materials to teach my students how to recognize and deal proactively with their emotions and attention.
Students can not learn without being able to regulate their emotions and attention.
This training and curriculum will provide me with specific strategies to teach my students. The books and posters will help bring the lessons to life and help me review and reinforce concepts. Emotional self-regulation is my goal for all of my students and this will help me reach that goal.
