Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my high school speech therapy classroom, I work with incredible students who face unique communication challenges. My goal is to create an environment that supports their growth by using engaging, hands-on materials tailored to their needs. The items I’m requesting will help me do just that—create a space that is organized, interactive, and conducive to communication practice.
What I am looking for:
The 3M Laminator Kit will allow me to laminate visual aids, cue cards, and reusable learning materials, ensuring that frequently used tools last longer. Laminated resources provide students with opportunities for consistent practice, boosting their confidence and skills over time.
The 15 Drawer Rolling Storage cart will help keep my classroom organized by providing a designated place for individualized materials for each student. This portable cart allows me to bring resources wherever they’re needed, maximizing efficiency and allowing me to focus more on student interaction.
The VELCRO Brand Dots are essential for creating interactive communication boards and tactile learning tools. Students will be able to engage with language and social communication activities in a hands-on way, reinforcing their understanding through touch.
A $100 Gift Card for Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) will allow access to specialized speech therapy resources such as worksheets, games, and activities that are tailored to my students’ needs, keeping them motivated and excited to learn.
Finally, the Acrylic Sign Holders (6 Pack) will display visual cues and prompts around the classroom, providing students with constant reminders to help guide their communication.
