My Students

The students in my district come from a wide range of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. They love to run, play, act, draw, create, sing, engineer, problem solve and learn.

These are GREAT kids who have a bright future!

Our community was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey last year and these kids have bounced back from some very difficult situations. Unfortunately, this has left many families with little extra funds for extra-curricular activities. These kids love to be involved in hands-on activities that make them think!

My Project

Preparing Everyone to Accelerate in Robotics is a district-wide initiative with the goal to develop a self-sustaining, student-led robotics program in Kindergarten through grade 12. Students in the program will grow in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. The students will experience principles of design and function through the process of building and programming robots.

Students will work collaboratively and learn "Gracious Professionalism" while developing solutions to the new game or challenge provided through FIRST every year.

We are seeking supplemental funding to build student capacity in the invaluable life skills of problem-solving and critical thinking supported through FIRST. Our students' success requires the proper materials for our kids to work with.

Hurricane Harvey took a toll on our city, our school district and our families. This results in fewer local funds to support this program. I'm hoping to fill the gap with your help.
