My students homeschool 4 days a week and then come to my class for enrichment one day a week.
I try to do all hands-on curriculum with the students and get them engaged in math, science, writing, and history.
This year I am teaching Chemistry, Skills for Life and First Lego League. First Lego League focuses on Core Values to work together as a team. We currently have 1 robot for 25 students and I would like to have 3 robots so I can split my class into 3 teams.
This year Lego League's theme is "Into Orbit." My students will work as a team to create a project to help make space travel more comfortable for the astronauts. Then they will program a robot, similar to a space rover to accomplish missions. Students will use CORE values and be judged at competitions based on their teamwork and programming skills. I currently have 1 robot for 25 students but would ideally like a total of 3 robots so I can split my class into 3 teams. Please consider funding us, it is a wonderful program and I would hate to turn students away from it because of lack of materials.
