My students need the two games to use in centers to increase grade level knowledge. The calendar and magnetic board will help with organization. The five wobble chairs provide flexible seating for wiggly young learners.
My first graders want to eagerly explore scholastic books and the world around them with genuine curiosity and are constantly learning.
With limited exposure to books, computers/internet, and limited English students enter the classroom energetically smiling and ready to learn despite any challenges they may face.
More than half are one to two grade levels behind the standards for first grade at the beginning of the school year, but they have tremendous potential for growth.
My students depend on me for structure and security. In time students develop the awesomeness, resilience, and grit needed to make major progress in first grade. Our classroom "family" thrives with our passion for learning.
My Project
This project really focuses on providing my students and classroom with supplies. We need to have books to read and places to sit with ease. First Graders come to my classroom with an assortment of emotional and sensory needs besides the fact that they are young children. Students have so much potential for growth in first grade and I hope using wobble chairs will help by engaging the vestibular system and keeps the brain active through the wiggling. The ability to move and wiggle will also provide comfort to students who are having sensory issues.
The calendar kit will provide a fun and easy way to build day and month awareness and we will use it daily as we review our agenda for the day.
Having all of our supplies organized and easy to access will make daily agenda time more efficient and that is why I included the magnetic board supply caddy in this project.
When this project is implemented, I hope to see students staying focused and all of us using our time wisely.
