My Students
Simply stated, I need help. This is my first year teaching first grade and I am required to teach science and social studies, but I do not have a formal curriculum or textbooks for my students.
My Project
I teach first grade in a school that is in an economically depressed neighborhood in Chicago. Approximately ninety-four percent of our student population qualifies for free/reduced lunch.
This is my first year teaching first grade, but this is my second year with this very special group of students.
I was a kindergarten teacher and I looped up with my class to first grade. My 27 students are very inquisitive and are highly engaged with anything related to science, social studies and current events.
