My Students

Teaching first grade is my passion. Some of my first graders, unfortunately, come from challenging backgrounds with things no child should ever encounter. Many students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Some come to school in the dead of winter with no hats or mittens. No matter what their situation is at home, my first graders are still so eager and excited to learn new things. They all deserve the best education and that is my ultimate goal each and every day.

My Project

My classroom is centered around students working together all day long. Students are seated at tables, rather than desks for individual work time and center time. They love having opportunities to work together and help one another out!

This table will give my students a little more space to work.

During center time, students work with a variety of hands-on materials such as art supplies, math manipulatives, among many others. Oftentimes, their materials get mixed up with their neighbors. This table will allow for students to have their own space while still working in a group.

I believe this student will be a great work space for my amazing first graders.
