This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a growing school district full of children from all over the world! Our school district is comprised of over 16,000 children who speak more than 60 different languages. Approximately 700 of those children attend my school, and their different backgrounds make up a great learning environment.
Our school is diverse, constantly growing, and full of eager-to-learn children with so much to offer!
The students that come to me every day are silly, smart and curious about the world around them. They take pride in everything they do and there is nothing quite like experiencing the world through their eyes.
My Project
We started using a new phonics curriculum this year, and my class is showing such great improvement in their phonics and phonemic awareness skills! This project will help get the flash cards, which match our new program, into the classroom so that I can fully implement the program with fidelity. In addition, I am asking for 2 Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, so I can bring new materials into the classroom.
This year more than ever, my students are faced with the challenge of having to adapt to new ways of learning and interacting with our classroom resources.
I would love to have the opportunity to give them new materials, which can be used in Google Classroom, that they can interact with online and will be engaged with. Simultaneously, I would love to take some of the creation of materials off of my plate, so I can better focus on providing the best in-class instruction to my students while they are there!
