Our school is located in an urban setting and is very diverse. From ethnic to family to economic diversity, we celebrate everyone! Our school is an inclusive school which means every class has students with special needs. We teach a peaceful approach to learning together. I teach lovely little learners.

My Project
I have been teaching for 20 years and have had the same leveled readers the whole time. Can children learn to read from them? Sure they can but the books are falling apart. It is time for a new set of leveled readers created by Fountas and Pinnel, the industries most respected reading instruction company.
My first graders need new leveled readers, levels A through K, to learn to read during Reader's Workshop.
There are two sets we need. The first set includes 55 readers level A-E. The second set includes 55 readers level A-K. I teach 22 students and at any given time each child should have 8-10 readers in their book bags at their reading level. They change their books weekly and move through the levels. These sets will supplement my current leveled library.
