Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first grade students come to class with smiles on their faces because they know our school provides a safe community for them to learn. I teach at a multicultural Title I School in Los Angeles. Most of the students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and all of the students receive free breakfast every day. I teach a happy, motivated, and creative group of five and six year old learners.
I try to connect with all of my students by having fun and creative activities in our classroom so everyone is motivated to learn and works hard.
We have a wonderful blend of cultures in our classroom, from Mexico to California. Many of my students have a history of being below grade level in math and language arts, but we are working hard to help them discover that school can be a great place to learn!

My Project
My project goal is to help my students up to the grade level standards and have them feel comfortable and confident while taking tests. I want my students to love learning and to be prepared in their academic career and assessments.
An investment in their classroom supplies will be an investment in their future success.
Good test taking skills, focus, and persistence will help them to do their best when taking tests (District Interim Assessments and California Standardized tests) in Language Arts and Math.

Your help donating to this project will help this year's students, and students in future years too.
