Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am writing this proposal on behalf of the ten first grade teachers at PS145. When we heard about the donations being given to schools, we met as a team to decide what we wanted to ask for that would most benefit our students. The choice was clear: a mass producing copy machine.
When I say mass, I mean that it can produce many copies quickly. We are a school of over 100 teachers and over 1,100 students. There is one copy machine for the whole building to use and I don't have to tell you how often it is broken. Students have to wait weeks for copies of writing paper and holiday copies usually come after the vacation. It is quite sad that our first graders miss out on the opportunity to have quality paper to write on that goes with our varied units of study.
The first grade teachers are requesting this copy machine to be used by us for the children and it will be placed in a closet on our floor. We are also working on a resource room that could be the home of the copy machine. This machine will help us send out copies of parent newsletters, class field trip photos, invitations to writing celebrations, show leaflets, and announcements, along with letting our students work with handmade worksheets for units of study in all subject areas. We thank you kindly for reading our proposal and hope that you can grant this one wish for the first grade students of PS145. If we receive this printer, it will be kindly taken care off and appreciated.
