Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Year after year students in first grade spend a part of the day on the carpet. They receive whole group lessons, and they spend time during small groups and independent work on the rug.
There is such a difference in student engagement and classroom community while students are seated at the rug.
A new rug for my classroom will be loved and respected. It will not only provide my students this year with something to love, but my students for years to come. All students deserve a welcoming place to build a community, and I hope to be able to give this to them!
