First Graders Need 2020 Beginning of the Year Supplies
Help me give my students special COVID beginning of the year supplies including bleach and paper towels for cleaning, extra masks, and books about masks and social distancing to help the students adjust!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a growing school district full of children from all over the world! Our school district is comprised of over 16,000 children who speak more than 60 different languages. Approximately 700 of those children attend my school, and their different backgrounds make up a great learning environment.
Our school is diverse, constantly growing, and full of eager-to-learn children with so much to offer!
The students that come to me every day are silly, smart and curious about the world around them. They take pride in everything they do, and there is nothing quite like experiencing the world through their eyes.
My Project
My students will be returning from last school year with lots of different challenges. Many of them know someone who has had COVID or have lost someone who had the virus. They are not used to wearing masks, and they will probably be confused, scared, and resistant.
When kids go back to school shopping this year, it is going to be very hard to get extra masks and cleaning supplies.
These are items which we ask for every year, but they are perhaps more important this year! This project will allow me to have extra cleaning fluid and paper towels on hand and extra masks in case some are forgotten or get damaged during the day. Your help will allow me to be sure that my room is as safe as I can make it in between professional cleanings.
I requested some books about masks and social distancing to help my students understand why they are so important! Your donation will help give me books that I can read to my students about these very current issues and will hopefully help to ease their anxiety as well.
