My Project
My students are a wonderful group of fun, loving, and hard-working first graders. They come to school daily with a smile and a desire to learn.
The Covid 19 pandemic affected children worldwide.
Many of my sweet first graders are having difficulty adjusting to in-person learning and our classroom's hard plastic seats. They have different learning needs, and seat cushions and stools will allow them to choose where they want to learn. In addition, the chairs will be used during small groups and will provide more seating options. Students learn best when they can move and select the type of seating that is best for them.
In addition, my students love the book The Bad Seed by Jory John. It is an engaging book with a simple message - avoid labeling others, and there is always room for self-improvement. The book's message was easy for my students to understand, and they ADORED the main character. After learning about other books in the Fruit Group Series, my students asked me to buy them. I know these hilarious books will cultivate a love for reading and help them to develop empathy, compassion, and resilience. These books will be an excellent resource when teaching Social Emotional Learning lessons.
I have also requested new headphones to replace our old and damaged ones. These headsets will allow the students to listen to books without distracting others. Thank you for considering my project.
