This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students LOVE having individual pencil boxes to call their own. The pencil boxes I have gently reused over the years of teaching are in need of an update. Having an individual pencil box for my students to call their own will help keep their desks organized and clean of clutter! Each pencil box will have a fresh new label and contain the necessary supplies needed throughout the school year. Each first grader will have the means necessary to use the supplies when needed throughout the school day.

With a class of active, curious first graders, time for individualized assessments is precious.

Using the brand-new individual privacy dividers will help each child remain focused and on task. Students will be able to put forth their best work when completing literacy and math assessments. The dividers will provide them with continuous privacy and help keep their desk areas clear.

Along with new pencil boxes and dividers, I have requested getting new name tags, labels for their journals, and lanyards that will include their name, picture, and lunch number. This information is very important to have at the beginning of the school year and for students to have accessibility to.
