First grade is such a special year: it is the year most kids learn to read! I love being able to guide my students in learning how to break the alphabetic code and learn to read. All the supplies in this project will benefit every student in my classroom on their reading journeys.
The magnetic letter trays will be used so students can practice building and decoding words.
These trays will make it easy to lead students through word chaining activities and differentiate for each group of students.
The Teachers Pay Teacher gift card will be used to purchase reading and phonics materials, such as games and small group activities. These phonics games will be used during small group work time. Students will have access to phonics games that individually match the phonics skills they are working to master. Having access to these games will allow them to become more efficient and confident readers.
The mesh bags and Sterilite storage drawers will be used to organize the phonics materials that I purchase from Teachers Pay Teachers. I need to teach each student at their own level and being able to easily organize everyone's materials allows the classroom to run efficiently.
