This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

First graders are curious about the world around them. I have a fantastic group of first graders this year. We have been back to school for a few months now and they love to come to school and learn with their friends. I teach at a Title I school, and the majority of the students receive free or reduced-price lunches.

Despite the many challenges they may face outside of school, my students are enthusiastic and curious about the world around them.

Many of them take their newfound knowledge and teach their family members at home. They take pride in their learning, and they love to learn.

My Project

My first graders are enthusiastic and eager to learn. My students love the one pop it game we use for math time. These additional pop it games would allow more students to practice their math skills. The folders and zipper pouches will be used to store supplies and their work. I would love more erasers for them as they are used in my class as rewards. We call them "Desk Pets." They love to earn them and most of all they enjoy reading to them. It is so much fun watching them read and even write a story with their desk pet. They all have named them and greet them each day. Such a small item has brought them a lot of joy!
