First Grade Full STEM Ahead

Help me give my students interlocking disc sets, magnetic blocks, and pixel art challenges to fill their mornings with the power of STEAM.

My Project

My students are excited to learn each and every day. They come into my classroom ready to learn, and we begin the morning with soft start bins. These are containers full of items at each table that allow for my students to begin the day with the freedom of choice and creativity. My first graders get so excited to see which bin will be at their table when they arrive at school.

The six year old energy that can be found in first grade goes beyond the four walls of our classroom, and we need materials that allow us to bring our ideas to life.

We are now two full months into school, and my students crave a variety of items to work with and showcase their creativity. By having items such as Magnetic Tile Blocks, they can bring what they see in their mind to life. By working with Interlocking Plastic Discs, they can perfect their fine motor skills. With the Pixelated Cube Art, my students can learn simple coding and directional skills.

My goal each and every morning for my students is to create a space that is safe and welcoming. My classroom should allow them to be creative and explore, and we love to begin each day with STEM. Not only do we begin each day with joy, but a passion for expanding our minds and bringing our ideas to life.
