Welcome to first grade! We are movers and the shakers. I currently teach first grade at a school that has a STEAM focus. My students enjoy collaborating, sharing, and activity in our classroom. Many of my students enjoy reading, writing, and sharing in little nooks in my classroom. They love my old bean bag chairs but we need some fun and innovative seating to make learning fun!

We love to learn and share. "What does endangered mean?" is a question that was asked this year so we decided to research an animal and create a Google slide. My students now understand the word "endangered" and the impact.
My Project
Bean Bag chairs in a reading center are a great way to encourage sharing, collaboration, and a community learning environment. These bean bag chairs already have a special place in my first graders' hearts. They will be able to melt into them with a innovative Kindle or a good book.
First graders LOVE to learn about non-fiction topics and they will love this Time set.
My students enjoy making non-fiction Google slides and documents. Sharing their findings with their peers and myself is a highlight and they become "experts". This book set will encourage their research and show them that the world is full of differences.
