Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The classroom rug is a common and important meeting place for students and teachers. We spend a significant part of our day as a whole group and the addition of a classroom rug will not only host each student's learning spot but it will become the centerpiece of our classroom.

The rug will provide students a spot to listen to stories, discuss topics with a partner, and even work on skills independently in centers.

We come to the rug to learn, share ideas, and enjoy read-alouds! The rug would be beneficial to my classroom, and students' social-emotional and academic learning, and it will ultimately be a wonderful addition to our classroom learning environment.

I am also requesting a vaccuum to keep our new rug clean and comfortable for students.

Additionally, our growing first graders have snack time and many students do not come to school with a snack. I am requesting extra snacks to keep in the classroom for students who do not have snack and are hungry.

Thank you for supporting our classroom to be comfortable for our first graders to do their best learning!
