Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a wonderful energetic class of 30 first grade students on the near west side of Chicago. Most of my students receive free lunch and breakfast. We work on the morning story using paper to write and draw pictures. My students are used to writing and drawing pictures about what they write. They love to draw, and work on exciting creative project. We like to save some of these projects such as the family picture with labeling telling who each family member is and what they do. A laminating machine would help us preserve the precious projects that parents save from childhood. We would also use the laminator to make game cards for math class and for our post-it charts that become worn from everyday use. The tally daily weather chart gets a lot of use and takes time to remake when worn. If I had the laminator, it would save me a lot of time and I could use this time for student instruction. For my project to happen, I need one laminating machine and laminating paper!
