This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade class is comprised of 24 highly motivated students. My school is located in San Pedro, California.

My students are special because they know that if you come to school every day, then great things happen.

Great things are happening in my classroom every day.

The students in my class make great efforts to obtain excellence. My students set goals for themselves and, as a class, we celebrate when they reach their goals.

My Project

I want to create a community of readers in my first grade classroom. It is very important that there are many books in a classroom library. I want to have a variety of genres that my students can read when they select a book from our library. A variety of genres will develop their reading skills.

A classroom library filled with a variety of books makes reading more exciting for children.

I want my students' to be excited when they go to our classroom library. I want to promote a love of reading in my classroom!
