First Grade Blue Skies

My students need seat sacks, books, crayons, a bookcase, pencil cases, and Dino counters, so there is independence in our classroom. My students need chart paper to continue to work on interactive anchor charts.

My Students

"Teachers who love teaching; teach children to love learning!"

My students pour into the sound of welcoming good morning music; bopping their heads as they unpack anxiously, to learn and interact with their peers.

They grab their books, snuggle up with a pillow and lose themselves in adventure. That's only the beginning! We conclude our days with a "SNAP" classic, "I've Got the Power!" My students have the POWER to reach for the stars. Our classroom is filled with many friends of diverse backgrounds. Each and everyone of them are jewels, treasures dug up from the Earth. Excited, energetic, light hearted and bright are words that best describe these gems. My students demonstrate to me daily that the cares of this world can be overcome with a smile and hard work. Our school is located in an urban environment of which poses a challenge for many of our families.

My Project

The resources requested will enhance our learning environment. We will no longer take learning time to grab our materials because our seat sacks will hold all of our classroom treasures! The books selected can be used in various ways. I seek to support our ESL students and challenge others to develop in reading fluency and build vocabulary. My students will learn to answer comprehension questions, decode unknown words and extend their academic vocabulary. Our crayons and colored pencils will enhance our pictures during independent work time.

Your partnership with us will allow us to develop and challenge my students to build strong independence and accountability.

That same partnership will help my ESL students to become more successful in acquiring English as a second language.
