Help me give my students manipulatives to help with math, organizing Sterilite tubs for centers, sight word games, and behavioral incentives for the whole class.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a low-income title one school and my 20 students are the most active, engaged, and invested learners. My students have a range of needs, and I am constantly bringing in new materials to maintain their engagement, focus, and motivation. I have provided a classroom culture with my own money, and I am now looking for some support to help with my hands-on activities.
My students love to interact with their math problems using hands on materials.
They love the sensory sound and feel of the mancala beads that we once borrowed, and they constantly ask to use them. They also work very well collaboratively, and I have been creating a multitude of centers for them to learn through games. I now am in need of a way to organize and store them so students can quickly and easily access them.
We are in search of assistance with behavior incentives. I have a class with high needs, and they thrive on any kind of incentive or motivation. I am hoping we can get the marbles, stars, and jars donated to help support students following expectations.
