Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

My Students
My senior class is made up of a variety of social, emotional and cultural variations. Being that we are an application school, my students come from a variety of backgrounds and have a variety of needs. Most of their barriers are economic and most of them lack the bare necessities to compete with different students across the district. However, this has not stopped them from getting what they need in order to achieve their dreams.
While getting to school via metro and other modes of public transportation, some of them come across various obstacles that do not allow for them to arrive on time.
However, they push through and arrive anyway. Some of the students lack the bare necessities in their homes but they push through and show up anyway. Some of my students have educational deficits and need additional assistance, time and resources. However, they push through and show up anyway.
The type of seniors I have are resilient, dedicated and purpose driven but lack the necessary resources in order to compete. I am often surprised by the types of conversations we have as they are mostly mature and thought provoking interactions.
My Project
I am requesting a Dell laptop, an iPad and a printer. These up to date technological devices will serve as a tool to bridge the gap for my students who are applying to college and other post secondary options. I believe that by using up to date materials my students will have the opportunity to level the playing field of their counterparts with unlimited resources.
The technology that I have requested will be seamlessly paired to the students' devices so that any communication can be made in real time to the student.
In addition to increased productivity, it will allow for students to engage in additional one on one time with myself while developing and working their plan. These devices will allow for students to maximize their potential and optimize their skills.
