My Students

This team will be made up entirely of special needs students, with a large number of autistic students. The mix is a racially diverse group of students and ages, with students ranging from fourth grade all the way up to eighth grade. This will be the first experience that these students will have with FIRST LEGO League. By making the team entirely special needs students, it allows those students to shine and move to the forefront of the team and step up as leaders.

My Project

FIRST Friends is a program designed for special needs students. The goal of the program is to use a common interest in STEM to create friendships and have a lot of fun by participating in FIRST LEGO League. There will be one FIRST LEGO League team consisting of six to eight students ranging from fourth to eighth grade. The team will include students of varying abilities, this way there will be diversity among team members and students will learn to work well with others despite their differences. Overall, the goal is to have a lot of fun while participating in FIRST!
