My Students
Pre-K for All is a new program within the New York City Department of Education that provides all four year olds with full day quality education. Pre-K for All gives children stronger reading and math skills.
My site is a Pre-K Center exclusively dedicated to pre-k students.
We are located in Brooklyn and have a diverse population.
We have a center based learning model. The students learn by engaging in purposeful play while teachers engage the students in meaningful conversations.
In my program we like to provide lessons that are interactive so the children can learn by doing.
My Project
There are many bulletin boards in the pre-K classroom. I cover the boards with paper and border. I use these boards to display student work. We use the paper as backdrops as well. The paper will allow me to decorate my boards to make the classroom inviting and exciting. The clear pockets I use as part of my center rotation so students can see who is in what center by placing their picture in a clear pocket. These materials are worn out and new material is needed for the upcoming school year. This material will help me create a warm and organized classroom.
