This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Walking into our school, you will find a diverse group of kids. Many of my students are English language learners, which means they are learning how to read, write, and speak English.
Our classroom is in an urban environment, filled with kids from all walks of life.
We are a Title I school, and our whole school gets free breakfast and lunch. I have a few students with troubled home lives, which makes me work harder to create an environment where every child feels safe and able to learn the skills necessary to be ready for middle school and beyond.
My Project
The beginning of each new school year is exciting for both teachers and students. We both come to school with high expectations. Having just a few more supplies to enhance learning is essential for a successful year.
Unfortunately, not all supplies are available to teachers to give to their students in order to facilitate a fantastic school year.
That is why I am asking for a few items that will make teaching and learning a little more fun and organized.
First, I am in need of labels to print math story problems for students to solve in their composition books. Also, large envelopes are needed for students to safely store their hard earned class money. Next, book tape is essential in order to repair all the well-loved and much read books in our class library. Finally, some colorful dry erase board markers will make teaching and learning more fun.
