Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have multiple students in my classes who are interested in becoming lifeguards, babysitters, or volunteer at youth camps. Most of my students need a CPR and First-Aid certification to broaden their opportunities of work as a high schooler. As a CPR and First-Aid trainer it is so important to certify my kids using the correct methods and with the appropriate materials.
Not only will CPR and First-Aid satisfy job requirements for students and staff around me, but it is a vital skill to know.
The knowledge of CPR and First-Aid can truly save lives and propels student learning regarding to health.
In our rural district, most of the families work in agriculture. Over 80% of our school children are of Hispanic descent, and many of them are English language learners from immigrant families. Most students participate in the free lunch program.
