This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are ready and eager to learn. We are a Title I school with 100% free and reduced price lunch. Our students come from a rural community with parents who want them to succeed and the best for them in life. My students are in first grade.
We enjoy learning in a nontraditional environment and using technology to explore the world around us.
My students are excited and love the opportunity to explore the world around them. They have been learning to work collaboratively and how to find solutions to real-world problems.
My Project
My students love to create with technology. This project is to help us get Kindle Fire Tablets for our classroom. We use the tablets in centers and during whole group instruction. We use them to learn and to explore the world around us.
A classroom favorite station is Read to Self where students use tablets to record videos of themselves reading stories.
These recordings are added to our classroom on Seesaw and the QR code of their recording is printed out. Fellow classmates are able to watch the videos and practice reading as well.
This station helps my students to see that they can be creators of technology and gives them a purpose for their work. Thank you for considering a donation to my classroom.
