I teach English and Math to 4th & 5th grade Special Ed students at a Title I school in Cleveland, Ohio where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students are excited and ready to learn and they realize while it may take a little more effort to grasp certain skills and concepts they are more than capable of achieving any goal they set their minds to.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They enjoy coming to school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
Kindle Fire Tablets would allow for more efficient small group practice during our Language Arts Block. Currently, students have to share four desktop computers during centers to practice vocabulary, spelling, and comprehension skills, research information, and take online assessments. The tablets would allow students time to work on a device independently so they can target their specific needs using an appropriate app or website with their own login information.
We would like a class set of Kindle Fires to start the year off right.
This donation will help my students continue to be motivated and crave information. It will also help them develop a deeper understanding of topics, and develop better reading skills. These Kindle Fires will show my students that people around the world care about their education and are rooting for them to become lifelong learners.
