My students are of a diverse population within a rural community. Each student is unique and capable of success given the proper resources and support. I have 23 students in my Kindergarten classroom who are developing their foundational skills to become successful and productive throughout their educational career.
I feel that technology can play a significant part in the development and progression of my students learning skills and will have a positive impact in the classroom.
Many of my students do not have access to technology at home and the technology within our classroom is limited. Only 20% of my students are fluent with computer and technology skills due to some type of outside influence. The other 80% of my students have little to no opportunities outside the classroom to explore the world using some type of technology.
My school is a Title 1 school and 100% of our students receive free lunches. I feel each of my students should have an equal opportunity to experience success and I believe with this purchase, my class will experience success in acquiring and retaining their foundational skills.
My Project
The materials requested for my project will help students in all aspects of their education. I am confident that the Fire will assist them with Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Technology. The Kindle Fire will ignite a spark that I feel will burn for many years to come. This will make a positive impact on my students leaning and will provide them with motivation to want to learn MORE! A piece of technology in the hands of each student will create a learning environment that is more powerful than any reproduced sheet will ever be able to do!
