My Students
I teach 3rd Grade ELA to anywhere between 70-75 students a year. I have the most eager, rambunctious, and hilarious students ever! There's not a day that goes by when I don't get a good laugh in. My students are mostly low-income and very diverse. One hundred percent of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students were catapulted from a self-contained 2nd grade classroom to departmentalized 3rd grade world, which can be exciting, but is also overwhelming for them. About a third of my students are English Language Learners who need a lot of additional support to become English proficient. Many of my students are also struggling from reading delays due to Covid 19 and simply not being on grade level at the time Covid 19 hit.
My Project
I would love to be able to add 4 Amazon Fire tablets to engage my students in a multicultural, print-rich classroom right at their fingertips! I want to introduce them to the many reading resources that are available to them through apps and online, especially since access to physical books is very limited due to covid.
These Amazon Fire tablets will make learning much more engaging and fun for all students!
There will be no limit to the amount of content that my students will be able to access, no matter their reading levels or capabilities.
