My students are from a district that receives free lunches for all students. We are in a school that has self-contained, but open, classrooms with no doors and partial walls. Students can hear so much of what is going on in other classrooms and hallways. They have to work hard to ignore those distractions and focus on their learning during the day. I would like to help provide my students with access to more resources that can maximize their learning and set them up for success now and in the future!
My Project
Our students have limited access to technology. We share 3 computers for 21 students. We have limited access to an iPad cart that is shared among over 650 students. We are slowly trying to build a Kindle collection to give more students access at a time.
Having easier access to technology and apps like Reflex Math and Accelerated Reader, among others, through these Kindle Fires will allow my students to learn and grow more effectively!
Many students don't have technology access at home to enhance their learning. Having Kindles more readily accessible will make a huge difference for my students. I think students will also be more excited to learn and use the technology as it can make some parts of learning more engaging for them.
