Fire Up Our Financial Literacy

Help me give my students Kindle Fires to have access to engaging and efficient apps that will help students gain number sense to help with their financial literacy.

My Students

My students are from a district that provides free lunches for all students. We are in a school that has self-contained, but open, classrooms with no doors and partial walls. Students can hear so much of what is going on in other classrooms and hallways. They have to work hard to ignore those distractions and focus on their learning during the day. I would like to help provide my students with access to more resources that can maximize their learning and set them up for success now and in the future!

My Project

Students will be able to use these Kindle Fires to access all kinds of apps, including apps that can build financial literacy skills. Technology runs our world these days, so using technology to gain financial literacy is a must!

Due to our low income area, my students often do not even have the background knowledge to build on when it comes to money and what it really means.

They also don't have the technology to access the best resources to help them build these skills.

Providing my classroom with Kindle Fires can help with both of these things. The students in my class will be able to use technology to gain more skills with financial literacy!

We also need screen protectors for these and our other Kindles in our classroom to make the Kindles last longer and serve more students in the coming years. The stylus pack will make it easier for the students to select the right button with the small screen of the Kindle tablets.
