Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is full of young wonderful students that are special in their own ways. Each student is referred to my class for their own reasons. Our school is located in the Hispanic area of an urban community. During the day the students are provided free breakfast and lunch to fuel their brains.
Every day we make learning enjoyable and fun.
The students love to be interactive and hands on with their learning. Every lesson in our class is tailored to each child's individual abilities while also providing for some whole group instruction.
My Project
When my students come to class they want to be fully engaged or they get bored. I know my students are using technology at home and like to play games on tablets. My students are more engaged when there's technology added in their lesson for the day. I would love to use that to my advantage and use the technology to integrate "games" into learning. Having the students playing educational games or reading a book on a Kindle fire is more interesting to them than picking up a book off the shelf.
All in all, in order to integrate the curriculum, I need to make my lessons parallel to what they like, and they LOVE technology.
