Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in a 12:1+1 special education classroom in the South Bronx. Many of my students have learning disabilities. The school is located in a high poverty area.
My students are faced with hardships everyday; yet, they come to school eager to learn.
Despite obstacles put in their ways, my students strive to reach their potentials. School is their safe haven where I strive to provide them with all the knowledge I can with the resources that are available to me.
My Project
My students are in need of access to more technology within the classroom. Having four Kindle Fire Tablets in the classroom will be a huge benefit for my students with disabilities.
By having these tablets, my students will have technology in the palm of their hands.
These tablets will be used during center time to practice learned skills in a fun and engaging way. There are many wonderful reading and math apps that can be played during center time on these tablets. My students will also be able to watch educational videos, research for projects, and create videos as a way to present projects. These tablets will open up a whole new world of learning to my students. These tablets are a must for learning in a classroom in 2016!
