My Students

My students walk into our classroom, every day, full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I want them to know I believe in them and that they can do anything. I also want them to be prepared for the rigorous world ahead.

I teach at a Title I school in Las Vegas, where many of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Unfortunately, most of my students have limited resources outside of school, so school is the place where my students experience enriching activities. During the pandemic, student access to learning materials and experiences was extremely limited.

Many of my students have limited resources outside of school, so school provides them with their only chance to experience technology related activities. My goal, every year, is to ensure an environment that is warm, nurturing, safe, and encourages creative learning opportunities.

My Project

The materials for this project will help my students have individually assigned, COVID friendly technology for them to use during literacy and math stations. Kindle Fires will allow students to listen to stories read aloud at a listening station, record their response to a book at the library station, or record their voice explaining a math equation.

By donating to this project you will help my students gain independence, self-expression, and develop a fire for learning.

With COVID restrictions, students were unable to enjoy books from the public library, attend Pre-K, listen to stories read aloud, or experience social interactions with peers their age. Kindle Fires will aide in students being able to have socially distant, individually assigned devices, to collaborate and work together.

Students will also be exposed to numerous text varieties (RL.K.5), engage in reading purpose (RI.K.10), model math equations (SMP.4), and practice speaking skills (SL.K.6). The possibilities of educational impact are endless!
