Finishing Touches For My Class

Help me give my students things big and small to help the finishing touches before the school year starts!

My Students

My class is a part of the VPI program in Virginia. Most of my students are low income and this program helps to get them in school sooner so they can adjust to a school setting. All of my students get a free breakfast in the morning and they all get free lunch. I have 18 wonderful 4 and 5 year olds and they are a very active group. They love to play in the different centers and learn through play.

Although some students have been exposed to some mentally challenging experiences at home before entering my classroom, they all have family members who really love them and want what's best for them.

My Project

Please help my class add some finishing touches before the school year begins! To help my students have a "calm down cozy space," I would like a tent to put some pillows and stuffed animals in to give them some time to themselves before they join their friends.

I would also like some bins to help organize my books by the subjects we are studying.

It would help me to know which books to pull out that apply to our units and put in the library center for the students to look at and explore.

Some toy cell phones would be the perfect final touch for our dramatic play area! The students love to pretend like they are grown-ups talking on cell phones while they are in the dramatic play area and these phones would be a great way for them to pretend.
