Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the end of the year rolls around my students are coming to school without supplies. I pull out students from many grade levels to work with them in both reading and math. These students don't have supplies to go between two rooms. My students include Special and Regular Education students who are eager to learn. I work in a low-income area with 90% of all students receive free breakfast and free or reduced lunches.

All students need to be involved in learning through the use of resources and materials that will keep them motivate so they can reach their full potential.

Our school's budget, especially this year, is limited by economic circumstances of the district and state. Every year the budget has been slashed to the point that the school doesn't have the funds to purchase basic supplies for students.

These basic supplies, notebooks and printer ink, will allow my students to complete required assignments, taking notes, illustrate math, reading, and so much more. The notebooks will help organize my students keeping their notes in one place for easy reference. This will further develop and strengthen each students executive skills that will prepare them for a stronger and more productive academic future as they organize their work in one central place.

I have a color printer in my room which many of the teachers, students and I use to create anchor charts, reading materials in color, students reports, and more. The ink will replenish what we have used this year and help us begin next year.
