My Project

The students in my Kindergarten classroom are curious. They love learning!

Children benefit from authentic learning experiences where their engagement stems from their ability to have choice, voice, and ownership of their learning through experiences that engage them as learners.

Hands-on experiences are critical in the early childhood classroom. Our sensory table is used daily during free choice learning time and is a high demand center. The prewriting tokens and stones will be used as a part of our sensory play to extend and connect those experiences to writing. The pencil grips, pencils, and small blocks will help support the development of children's small muscles in their hand through authentic play based experiences including building and writing.

The writing tools will not only be used at the writing center but also at the art center as children develop their fine motor skills, express themselves as they create, and problem solve as they work together and take turns.

Now more than ever, children need opportunities to own their learning experiences. These materials will help engage them in their learning and extend playful experiences across our day as we write our day away!
