My Students
My students are becoming Super Readers! Even though most of my students come from backgrounds that haven’t emphasized education, we are working on changing that attitude. In my classroom, we embrace books, and we spend time reading books of our choice every day. We are inspired by each other's reading, and we share book talks and rich conversations about books.
My students are incredible young people who are going to change the world!
We have been reading books and stories about young people who have made major changes in their communities and even the whole world. I can't wait to see what each and every one of my students do for our world!

We are just getting into the swing of distance learning for our first quarter. I am learning so much about how to make things better!
Did you know that you can respond to student work in Google Classroom on the iPad?
I had no idea! I have been messily scrawling on their work. My friend showed me how I can use the Apple Pencil to be even more precise with my feedback. I believe personalized feedback is even more important right now. My students barely even know me and I'm commenting on their hard work. I want to help them see that my feedback means I value them as people and I value their work. I know the personal touches are going to help me build relationships and improve their emotional well-being while we are apart.
I also realized that just because students aren't in my room, I still need to keep things looking good. When they watch my video lessons, they really are in my room! The blank bulletin board behind me looks terrible! I need these command strips to keep my room looking good! The command strips are also going to help me attach posters to the back of my bookshelves, which are now exposed due to the number of bookshelves I have.
