This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a special education teacher and I teach students that are 3-5 year olds. My students have developmental difficulties such as speech and vision problems, limited motor skills, sensory processing difficulties and/or special learning challenges. These kiddos come from low-income communities and face challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite their challenges, my students come to class happy and eager to learn.
They love to be a part of the class and make new friends. I love teaching special education and give them new experiences as well as new exposures that help enhance their learning. Being their teacher is my greatest joy, they brighten my days with their contagious smiles.
My Project
Fine motor skills help children perform important tasks such as feeding, grasping for toys, buttoning and zipping clothes, writing, drawing and much more.
Integrating this resource into our remote learning will help them integrate essential kindergarten skills that will reinforce spatial awareness, color recognition, shape recognition, hand-eye coordination, sorting, counting and problem solving.
With your donation my students will be able to explore the much needed hands on resources that otherwise would not be experienced through remote learning. This resource will go ahead and help my students develop their fine motor skills from home.
