Help me give my students composition notebooks to practice their fine motor skills, bulletin boards, letters, spray paint, and 3m strips for me to design an area in the classroom to display their artwork.
As our school year is winding down, I am planning for the incoming students next year. In our classroom, we are continually looking for innovative ways to encourage skills and display students' wonderful works of art.
Because we have a limited amount of bulletin board space in the classroom, I'd like to create an art gallery display as well as having compostition notebooks to showcase their fine motor skills.
We plan on using the composition notebooks at the beginning of the year in our small groups. We will model the activities for the students so they will eventually be comfortable working independently in our literacy center to continually add to their notebooks throughout the school year. They will be able to practice essential skills such as writing lines and curves (aids in letter formation), writing their name, and adding collage pages that showcase their cutting skills. All of these activities are important skills to have while preparing for kindergarten.
I am also asking for bulletin boards, wooden letters, and spray paint so I can create our own classroom art gallery. The students love it when we display their work, but it has been a struggle. When we try to tape items to the walls, they end up falling down again. The bulletin boards will allow for easy display. The wooden letters and spray paint I will use to create a sign above reading ART GALLERY. This way we can display all of their amazing work and ensure it stays up!
