This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Each student at our school is an artist. Pre-k through fifth graders have art at least once a week. Within the art room, students use paint, clay, printmaking, and drawing to express themselves through art. Each student has an important story to tell, and art gives them another platform to do so. The art room serves as a creative and safe place for free expression, relaxation, and fun.
With these tracing pads, students will have the opportunity to refine their fine motor skills and drawing abilities through tracing.
These tracing pads will aid students in building a strong drawing ability. By tracing complex images, their technical drawing abilities will improve. This will lay the foundation for them to be able to create their drawings as they grow as artists.
The tracing pads will also serve as a calming activity for students. Tracing an image of their favorite character or place can be meditative for some students. It also helps students to build confidence in their abilities.
