Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a K-8, charter school in an urban area.
Our students are diverse and they all strive to be civic-minded leaders, accomplished writers, and resilient lifelong learners.
Becoming resilient lifelong learners means being able to explore and build developmentally appropriate skills.
Our transitional kindergarten students benefit from opportunities to play and explore with items that are engaging and also promote the development of fine motor skills. Games such as the Squeeze, Scoop, and Count Ice Cream Shop and Tweezer Tongs Color Sorting Kit provide opportunities for our youngest learners to build their hand-eye coordination, develop important muscles for writing, lacing, snapping, and zipping, practice skills such as counting and sorting while having fun!
