Every child deserves the opportunity to receive the best education possible. Usually, the early years of learning can become the most influential for their future. At a young age, learning the basics such as social/emotional development, mathematical practices, and literacy skills provides the opportunity to expand the child's foundational skills, setting them up to be successful throughout their schooling.
The children in my classroom come from low to no-income homes where most students are at risk of never completing their education.
I am changing this one child at a time. I am using student-driven ideas to expand their knowledge of the information they want to know. I teach them the social and emotional skills necessary to help them cope in real-life situations. My classroom environment shows them how learning does not need to be full of mundane repetitive skills to learn, but they can learn using everyday items around them.
My Project
Fine motor play is essential in strengthening the muscles that control the hand, fingers, and thumb.
Developing fine motor skills in early childhood education helps build the foundation for important future skills.
These skills include children having the ability to grasp toys, button, zip, write, and draw. The ability to perform self-care helps a child build self esteem and their confidence will increase.
The materials in this project will aid in the development of my students fine motor skills while they play. They will have fun and not even realize that they are making their fine motor muscles stronger at the same time!
