Help me give my students fine motor tools and materials to help them gain important life skills.

My Project

Fine motor skills are the ability to make movements using the small muscles in our hands and wrists. We rely on these skills to do key tasks in school, at work, and in everyday life through self-care tasks and other activities of daily living. These small movements come so naturally to most people that we usually don’t think about them.

However fine motor skills are complex.

They involve a coordinated effort between the brain and muscles. They’re built on the gross motor skills that let us make bigger movements, like running or jumping. It is for this reason, that children at a young age learn to develop these skills and oftentimes children come to kindergarten lacking them.

My goal is to provide paint, letter beads, colored sand, bead kit, and other engaging materials for students to use while working on their fine motor skills.
